This journal contains scholarly book reviews and articles on current research. The journal is quite small and covers material culture studies and site publications in prehistory and history of the African continent. I have never seen a separate bibliography.

This is the primary theoretical scholarly journal for American archaeology. Includes substantial scholarly articles dealing mostly with archaeological and anthropological topics w/occasional historical articles. Also includes reports on current research arranged by geographical area, book reviews, and book notes. No serial bibliography, but the reports of current research alert scholars to work about to appear. Excellent quality.

Publishes short articles dealing solely with American archaeological issues, both historical and contemporary. Also includes a book review section. No serial bibliography.

This is a publication on general archaeology. Its broad audience makes it a good place if you want wide exposure to your paper. It covers recent work and publishes a yearly issue listing a field excavation directory of planned excavations. Of all the journals, this journal is also read by a public audience as well. There is no mention of a separate bibliography.

This journal contains articles, short articles, and book reviews. Its focus is on the analysis and interpretation of archaeology using a variety of geological and geographic tools and techniques. Sites range in age and are located worldwide. There is no mention of a separate bibliography or specialized issue being published.

Premier journal for historical archaeology. Publishes substantial scholarly articles on archaeology dealing primarily with American sites of the period 1500-1800 AD. Regularly publishes book reviews and research notes but no bibliographies. Excellent quality.
 
 
Historical Archaeology/Underwater Archaeology Proceedings from the Society of Historical Archaeology Conference.
Call number: Catalogued as monographs.
These are the annual conference proceedings. They consist of a selection of papers presented at the conference which deal specifically w/underwater archaeology. The scope is international. No serial or subject bibliographies.

A British publication. This is the premier journal for the discipline of underwater archaeology. It covers a wide range of issues dealing with maritime and nautical archaeology and its scope is international. Provides an annual list of recently published material.
 
 
Journal of Field Archaeology.

Scholarly articles on fieldwork (i.e., surveys and excavations), specialized studies, and analysis. This journal focuses mostly on North and South America, though it occasionally includes articles from other areas. There is no mention of a separate bibliography.
 
 
World Archaeology

This journal has many scholarly articles covering a multitude of topics. The journal takes on a more anthropological or ethnoarchaeology flavor, as many of the articles contain life history, ethnographic, and issues of symbolism in them. Periodically, theme issues are produced and back issues are available upon request. No mention of a separate bibliography.
