Official journal of the Society for History of Technology (SHOT), published by the University of Chicago Press. This journal covers a broad time period, from antiquity to the present day, and seeks to cut across cultural and geographic boundaries with "examinations of specific devices and processes to analyses of the complex relationship between technology and its social and cultural environment." The journal usually provides 3-4 engaging articles related to the technology inherent in a wide range of material culture. In addition to museum exhibit reviews, each edition contains between 15-20 solid books reviews. Every fall issue contains a briefly annotated bibliography of current literature on the subject. Two year lag time.
