Material Culture, 1984--. 3/yr.
Call number: E 161 .P51
Official journal of the Pioneer America Society; formerly titled Pioneer America, 1968-84. Initial emphasis was upon pre-industrial material culture in America and folklore studies. Since 1984, emphasis has broadened somewhat in attempt to reflect the more eclectic and interdisciplinary nature of current material culture studies. Current editorial statement suggests journal will focus on "interdisciplinary artifactual studies in history and folklife, psychology and anthropology, trades and industry, geography and sociology, food and clothing, and creativity and play." Good source for material culture theory. Does not publish feature bibliographies or serial bibliographies. Does publish several meaty book reviews in each issue. Indexed annually.
