What Can You Do with an American Studies Degree?

There is great academic and professional potential in American Studies! Here are a few of the many things you can do with the skills and knowledge you gain by majoring in American Studies:

American Studies majors find work in:
secondary schools; broadcasting industry; magazines and newspapers; public relations firms; government agencies; museums; local, state, and national archives; corporations.

American Studies majors have gone go on to Graduate and Professional school in:
M.A./Ph.D. in American Studies, English, Sociology, Anthropology, Geography, or History; J.D. in Law; M.A. in Journalism, Masters of Social Work; Master's degrees in Historic Preservation; M.A. in Museum Studies; Masters in Education; Documentary Film Production, New Media (graphics and content).
