Jessica A. Rucker is a Ph.D. candidate from the United States colony of Washington, DC. Jessica's dissertation research explores how Black-led revolutionary social movements are depicted and represented across genres of media. Her research interests include African American studies, Media Studies, Black feminisms, Black freedom and liberation ideologies and practices, and social movement theory. She holds a B.A. in Sociology, with a concentration in Social Justice Analysis and a minor in African American Studies, from Georgetown University. Her goal is to collaboratively construct public scholarship that is community-accountable and that keeps the flame of Black-led revolutionary social movements burning.
